Michael E. Zajac Obituary
Michael E. Zajac, 75, of Nescopeck, died Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home.
Born September 16, 1948 in Berwick, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marilyn J. (Menefee) Zajac.
A graduate of Central High School, Class of 1966, he went on to serve in the U.S. National Guard.
He was employed in maintenance at Dana Corporation, K-Fab, and Ridge Property Managers.
Although he was never able to have children of his own, Michael loved children and cherished spending time with them, teaching them and showing great patience with them.
In his spare time, he could be found tinkering around in the garage restoring tractors or working on some kind of project, whether it be for himself or one of his friends. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Joseph J. Zajac, Jr.; sister, Therese Zajac; and nephew, William Zajac.
He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Linda Centenaro and her family: her mother, Joanne Dautrich of Berwick, her son, Jason Orlando, his wife, Michele, and their children Dylan and Zach, of Levittown, her daughter, Sara Centenaro and her significant other, Gary Thomas of Easton, her brother Chris Dautrich and his wife Colleen and their family of Dallas, PA, and her brother Danny Dautrich and his wife Barb of Virginia, and her sister Brenda Gregory and her husband Bob and their family of Georgia; his sisters: Kathleen Baker and her husband, Frank, of Bloomsburg, Mary Bartko and Anita Lombardo of Nescopeck; his brothers: James Zajac and his wife, Mary Jo, of Keller, Texas, and David Zajac and his wife, Marie, of Wayne, PA; his nieces: Tracey Auber and husband, Andy, Victoria Parker and her husband, Michael; and Shauna Zajac; his nephews: Robert Baker and his wife, Vanessa, Joseph Baker and his wife, Leyla, Corey Lombardo and his wife, Laura, Ryan Lombardo and his wife, Amanda; his great-nieces: Kara Lengen, Farrah Baker and Lily Lombardo; his great-nephews: Hunter Auber, Christian Parker, Benjamin Parker and Julian Lombardo; and his close friends Lori Leach, Anton Yalch, and Chelsea and Mike Robinson and their children, Will and Henry, and Kevin and Tammy Ferris.
A visitation will be held from Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00, at Saint Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Richard J. Mowery officiating as Celebrant.
As Michael had a special place in his heart for children suffering from cancer, it is his wish that donations be sent on his behalf to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
