He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Gale Maher (Gorgas); his brother-in-law Richard W. Maher of Mahanoy City; his nephews, Richard H. Maher of Mahanoy City and Renaldo Rivera of Bangor; and his parents, William Gorgas and Margaret Gorgas (Jones). He was also cherished by two grandnieces and two grandnephews.
