He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Balash and Anna Balash (Barch); and his former wife Dolores Balash (Barbiaux). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Balash (Smith); his daughter Amy Armanious (Mark); his stepdaughter Heather Tayner (Shane); his siblings, Frank Balash, John Balash (Sandy), Patricia Amrhein and Elizabeth Higgins; and his grandchildren, David Armanious (Monica) and Olivia Tayner. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
