He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Hanzlik and Helen E. Hanzlik (Hepler); his wife Ruth A. Hanzlik (Grimm); and his siblings, Robert, Ronald Hanzlik and Frances Wahl.

He is survived by: his sons, Rob Hanzlik (Lisa) of Sharpsburg, Don Hanzlik (Dee Dee) of Pittsburgh, Wally Hanzlik (Heather) of Allegheny Township and Ken Hanzlik (Lisa Milauskas) of Natrona Heights; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent), Jake, Josh, Julia, Eugene and Antonio; and his great grandchild Greyson.
