He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward J. Friel and Ann E. Valasek Friel; and his in-laws, Donald C. and Marlene Hofmann Olliges. He is survived by : his cousin Lou; his wife Lynne C. Olliges Friel; his children, Adam E. Friel (Mary Jane Zivkovich) of Natrona Heights and Colleen A. Friel (Jon Welsh) of Lansing, MI; his siblings, Janice Kaufman (Rich) of Hermitage and Shawn Friel (Margie Smith) of Natrona Heights; and his siblings-in-law, Laurie A. Olliges Kaufman (Joseph) of Cincinnati, OH and William A. Olliges (Becky) of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday, June 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Guardian Angels Parish (800 Montana Ave, Natrona Heights, PA 15065).
