He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Acker (DeVos); his daughters, Nancy Acker and Janice Crowther (Paul); his stepchildren, Kenneth Okken, Dwayne Okken and Glenn Okken (Kelly); his grandsons, Bryan Phillips (Susan) and Matthew Phillips; his stepgrandchildren, Nicole, Andrew and Olivia Okken; and his sister Joan Zonsa (late Michael).
