He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Arthur and Edith Purnell (Fenton); and his wife Louise Purnell (Faupel). He is survived by: his children, Susanna Purnell of Myerstown and Richard William Purnell of MacDonald, PA; and his grandchild Lauren Purnell (Kyle Swingle) of Charlottesville, VA..
