He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nelson and Eleanor Nelson (Weidman); his grandparents, Frank and Margie Weidman (Dissinger); his daughter Candy Nelson; his stepson Chuck Arehart; his siblings, Patricia Umberger, Jennifer Nelson, Kareen Vracarich, Harold Nelson, Fred Nelson and Dale Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Nelson, JoAnn Nelson, Carl Wise, Ernie Miller, Stanley Deck and Nick Vracarich; and his siblings, Reta Benfer, Pauline Daub, Frank, Sted, Butch and Lloyd Weidman.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Nelson (Shutter); his children, Jacquelyn (Richard Shanaman), Crystal Nelson, Sheila (Roy Martin), Marcia (Stephen Hermansky), Rock Nelson (Bonnie) and Scott Nelson (Linda); his stepdaughters, Jody (James Fox) and Terri (Rob Miller); his grandchildren, Shane Mock, Anthony Sheetz (Laura), Eric Mock (April), Zack Nelson (Jackie), Ashley Hess (Brad), Richard Shanaman IV (Natalie), Laura Fisher, Rebekah Wolfe (Phillip), Leah Nelson, Julia Nelson, Cole Nelson and Wyatt Hermansky; his stepgrandchildren, Jamie Arehart and Adam Koch; his great grandchildren, Elliot Mock, Naomi Perez, Roman Mock, Noah Sheetz, Sloan Mock, Emmeline Wolfe, Asher Nelson and Lochlan Wolfe; his siblings, Janice Wise, Linda Trovinger (Robert), Priscilla Miller, Marjorie Deck, Anna Lutz (Dale), Lisa Nelson, William Nelson (Jean), Dennis Nelson (Janet) and Ricky Nelson; his close friend Beth; and his siblings-in-law, Arlene Nelson and Glenn Umberger (Mabel). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
