He is survived by: his brother Robert Thornburg (Cindy) of Raleigh, NC; his daughters, Julie Vaughn (Tony) and Laura Richards (Kevin); his grandchildren, Christina Phebus (Nick), Elizabeth Vaughn, Christian, Isabella and Gabby Richards; and his great grandchild Asher.
