He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Derr and Geraldine Derr (Neiswender). He is survived by: his wife Eileen M. Derr (Kurtz); his children, Kimberly (Henry Goodwin) of Schaefferstown and Kenneth Reedy of Myerstown; his brother Randy Derr of Myerstown; his grandsons, Joshua and Cory; and his great grandchildren, Liam and Beau. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
