He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl R. Smith and Anna M. Meily Smith; and his son Jonathan Michael Smith. He is survived by: his wife Donna Faye Smith; and his sisters, Maryann (Reginald Daubert), Nancy (Robert Leed) and Sandy Carpenter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
