She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward E. Spangler and Florence M. Erby Spangler; her husband Melvin A. Ruppenthal; and her siblings, Edward, Harold Lloyd Spangler, Pauline Haskell, Irene Espenshade, Alverta Spangler, Marguerite Swoyer and Willette Elliott.

She is survived by: her daughters, Gloria (Lloyd Schneck), Dorothy (Richard Beiler) and Dianne (Lynn Gundrum). She is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; sister.
