She was predeceased by: her siblings, Donald Simmers, Richard Simmers, William Simmers, John "Jack" Simmers, Pauline Speck, Thelma Bender, Elizabeth Embich, Helen Williamson and Jane Shott.

She is survived by: her spouse John "Pete" Gates; her children, Eileen (Daniel Sidelnick) of Cornwall, Jane (Bradley Wary) of Downingtown and John (Margaret) of Lebanon; her grandchildren, Nicholas Sidelnick (Meghan), Brian Sidelnick, Stefan Sidelnick, Drew Gates, Joseph Gates and Mark Gates; and her sisters, Marian Donnachie of Annville and Joan (Lowell Miller) of Cornwall.
