He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudio Portillo and Sally Portillo; and his sister Rachel Rowland (late Donald). He is survived by: his wife Diana L. Portillo; his children, Patricia Weber (Randy), Kathi Bish (Ken) and Robert Portillo (Rachel); his grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca (Brandon), Christopher, Brian, Zachary, Robert and Kayla; and his sister Irene Schwartzmiller (late Ralph). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral.
