He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carole A. Smart (Dobo); his sons, Matthew Smart (Marlena Flanagan) and Justin Smart (Amanda); his grandchildren, Morgan, Virginia and Stella; and his siblings, Marion Winters (Peter), Ruth Hanchak (Frank) and Nancy Ritter (David). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions to St. Maximillan Kolbe Church, 363 W. 11th Avenue, Homestead PA 15120.
