He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mihalcin and Anna Mihalcin (Mihalenchik); his sister Mary; and his brother-in-law Dennis Olup. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine P. Mihalcin (Olup); his children, David Mihalcin (Sue), James Mihalcin, Karen Adamcik (John) and Kevin Mihalcin; his grandchildren, Casey and Jenna Mihalcin; and his siblings, Agnes "Aggie" Walman, Ann, Margo, Pauline, John and Helen.
