He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Gerda; his children, Ronald J. Mathos, Eric R. Mathos and Christina B. Spade (Nick); his grandchildren, Stephan J. Mathos (Sarah), Elyse Mathos (Brad), Gretchen Mathos, Nicholas J. Spade and Justin R. Spade; and his siblings, Ruth Ann Leitholf, Walter Mathos, Dorothy Knight, William Mathos and Barbara Mathos Brown. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
