He was predeceased by: his brother Eugene Mence. He is survived by: his children, Edward J. Mence, Thomas Lowrey, Patricia Lowrey, Elizabeth Geczi and Anna Grenier; and his siblings, James Mence, Ruth Ann Parkinson, Bobbi Jo Einhorn and Robert Shaw. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
