He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe C. Yagel and Eleanor S. Yagel (Sixx). He is survived by: his children, Rene M. Empie (Darren) of Muncy and Aaron A. Yagel (Diane) of Muncy; his stepson Ryan Peterson (Ashley Evans) of South Willliamsport; his siblings, Arlene Edwards of Muncy, Pat Andrews (Larry) of Muncy and Ken Yagel (Judy) of Williamsport; his grandchildren, Ashley Empie (Greg Balliet), Brandon Empie, Kayla, Krystina, Logan and Ashton Yagel; his stepgranddaughter Freja Peterson; his great grandchildren, Grace and Kaiden Balliet; his nieces, Janette Parkin, Annette Shutt, Kellen Yagel and Cassie Yagel; his nephew Matt Yagel; and his pets, Kit-Kat, Scaredy, Harley and Sassy.
