With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Hawaka Smith (Muncy, Pennsylvania), who passed away on September 6, 2019 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Martin and Hilda Martin (Yonkin); her former husband Joseph Hawaka; and her siblings-in-law, Janice Martin and Rudy Chmiel.
She is survived by: her husband Allen L. Smith; her sons, Joseph Martin Hawaka (Elaine) of Mesa, AZ and Michael Arthur Hawaka of Ventura, CA; her siblings, Donald L. Martin of Farmville, VA and Maxine Cianfoni (Dan) of Manchester, NY; her nieces and nephews, Jeff Martin (Sandy) of Muncy, Eric Martin (Sharon) of Glen Allen, VA, Crystal Whitaker (Johny) of Muncy, Sarah Pipak (John) of Pittsburgh and Molly Egan (Matthew Quackenbush) of Philadelphia; her sisters-in-law, Florence Chmiel of Peckville and Barbara Egan (Brian) of Clarks Summit; and her pet Johna.
The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Joan's memory be made to Clarkstown United Methodist Church, 3117 Clarkstown Road, Muncy, PA 17756.
