He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis C. Hess and Ruth Hess (Fisher); his grandson Robert S. Hess, Jr.; and his brothers, Willis C. and Donald E. Hess.
He is survived by: his wife Martha M. Hess (Leaman); his sons, Robert S. (Marietta) and Timothy A. (Lori); his grandchildren, John Hess, Nicole Martin, Christopher Hess and Andrea Hess; and his siblings, Leora M. Hess, John D. Hess, Sr. and Kenneth F. Hess. He is also survived by The grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
