He is survived by: his wife Cynthia S. Kern (Senn); his children, Paul S. Kern (Lara) and Kathy Cummins (Robert); his grandchildren, Miranda Kern, Connor Cummins and Damian Ausband; his great grandchild Anya Coy; and his siblings, Bill Kern, Randy Kern, Betty Lou Price, Sandy Wilson, Jenny Gummo and Carol Kern.
