He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy James and Thelma Mae Atherton (Woodward); his daughter Sherry Atherton; and his siblings, Betty Myers, Charlotte Jaymes, Joy Winnick, Ken Atherton, Ben Atherton, Max Atherton, Tom Atherton and Bradley Atherton.
He is survived by: his wife Anna H. Atherton (Todaro); his son Brian Atherton; his grandchildren, Shane Atherton, Morgan Atherton, Landon Atherton and Lauren Atherton; his great grandchild Jaxon Kade Atherton; and his siblings, Vonny Hileman, Nancy Gerholt, Kathy Park, Rick Atherton, Trudy Myers and Lori Rosensteel.
