He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde M. Hanes and Virginia Hanes (Rhodes); and his siblings, Hazel, Flossy, Cecil and Kenny Hanes.
He is survived by: his close friend Ruth Hanes; his children, Nancy Kumpf (Guy), Mount Union, Clyde Edward Hanes of Athens, GA, Denny Leroy Hanes and Steven Hanes; and his siblings, Kaye Edwards, Janice Bickel, Gabe Hanes, Robert Hanes and Clifford Hanes. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
