“To Kathy and family. I was much saddened to hear of Bill's illness and passing. When I first met Bill in the Guide Room, he said he was from a little town in Western PA that I probably didn't know. When he said Mount Pleasant, I told him I knew exactly where that was. I was from Brownsville in Fayette County and have some relatives in Mount Pleasant. I have missed Bill on the battlefield and his great smile during breaks between tours in the Guide Room. My deepest sympathy. Deb Novotny”

“To Kathy and family, my heart is broken. Bill and Kathy made the process of becoming an LBG so much fun!1 We spent hours on the battlefield going over maps and studying. We had a ball, and while learning was great, Bill and Kathy became a part of my family. I miss those times and both of them especially these last few years. He was always helpful and pleasant--and he had a sense of humor, especially about living in the Pittsburgh, PA area in that I am originally from Philadelphia, but had lived in the South Hills while working for Gulf Oil from 1979 to 1982.
