He was predeceased by: his father William Sekanick; and his brother William Sekanick (Alice). He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Bruce (Karen) and Brian Sekanick (Audrey); his grandchildren, Vincent (Cassie), Garrett (Samantha), Kelsey Cavanaugh (Patrick), Brandon and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Abby, Luke and Lydia.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to St Mary of Czestochowa Church in New Kensington.
