He was predeceased by : his parents, John Massaro and Bertha Piccolino Massaro; and his siblings, Dr. Joseph Massaro and Barbara Proviano. He is survived by : his wife Theresa Ausefski Massaro; his daughters, Susan Massaro (Russ) and Christine Rapp (Bryan); and his grandchildren, Mia Harris (Gino), Zachary Rapp, Tyler Hughes, Madison Rapp and McKenzie Rapp. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc. (204 Eagle St, Mt Pleasant, PA 15666). A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X. R. C. Church (224 Summit St, Mt Pleasant, PA 15666).

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to St. Anthony School Program, 2000 Corporate Dr. Ste. 580, Wexford, PA 15090 in loving memory of John L. Massaro.
