He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Zimmerman and Ethel Hunter Zimmerman; his wife Darla K. Williams Zimmerman; and his siblings, Shirley Zimmerman and Carl.

He is survived by: his daughter Christy Bell (James); his grandsons, Ryan King, Eric and Adam Bell; his great grandchildren, Ava and Madeline King; and his siblings, Richard, Ronald Zimmerman (Joan) and Patty Fellner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
