He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Piper and Leona Johnson Piper; and his siblings, Robert, Curtis, James Piper and Sara Suter.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Lankey Piper; his children, Varden Piper (Michele) of Mount Pleasant, Vaughn Piper (Nancy) of Mount Pleasant, Vanessa Zyvith (Michael) of Bovard, Benita Smolleck (John) of Derry and Valerie Piper (Dan Auerbach) of New Jersey; his grandchildren, Brittany Eischeid (Nick), Nina Reger (Greg), Ashleigh Piper, Nicole Vasinko (Brandon), Benjamin and Nathaniel Auerbach; his great grandchildren, Aiden and Jax Eischeid; his siblings, Rebekah "Becky" Stants (Skip) of Mount Pleasant and Joseph Piper (Martha) of Greenville; and his sister-in-law Ellen Piper of Latrobe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
