It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Louise Smolnik of Mount Penn, Pennsylvania, born in Reading, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 22, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Stanley J. Smolnik; and her mother Gertrude A. Merkel (Haage). She is survived by : her daughters, Carla Frazer (Michael Frazer) and Susan Smolnik; her close friend Robert Bashore; her grandchildren, Sean Frazer, LeighAnn Frazer, Tyler Twiford (Sarah Twiford) and Alex Twiford (Bridgett Finn); her great grandchild Aubreigh Frazer; and her sisters, Rita Leach (late William Leach) of Palmyra and Anna Mae Nein (late Thomas Nein) of Reading. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
