She is survived by: her mother Louvina Irene Burkett of Ambridge, Pennsylvania.; her friend Jean Harris; her husband Jack Lennart Nelson; her close friend Ailsia Hulet Nelson; her children, Joel (Chris), Lynnea, Jimmy (Ingrid) and Laurie (Chris); her grandchildren, Kali, Meghan, Emily, Jack, Victoria, Daniel, Anna Nelson, Abigail, Sophia Cerci, Reed and Lucas Christner; her sisters, Diane Powell, Ruth Corll and Mary Smith; and also, Stanley and Dr. Jonas Salk. She is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
