He was predeceased by: his wife Ruthann; and his siblings, Michael McGrath, Mary "Lourdesie" Kiefer (late Rege), Paul "Joe" and Tom McGrath.

He is survived by: his children, Michael F. McGrath, Joseph P. McGrath and Colleen A. Matthis; his grandchildren, Shannon M. Matthis (George White) and Kristen A. Matthis; and his siblings, Peg Schohn (late Larry), Joan "Dolly" Smith (late Jack) and Jim McGrath (Shirley). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
