We are sad to announce that on February 18, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Andrea M. Bendel of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, born in Braddock, Pennsylvania. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid adieu to Andrea's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Andrea has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her father Edward R. Malack; and her brother Edward J. "Poco" Malack (Andrea). She is survived by: her mother Patricia A. Malack; her husband John J. Bendel; her children, Christopher Bendel (Claire), Dane Bendel (Christine) and Teresa Bendel; and her aunt Elly Kuszajewski.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the William Slater II Funeral Service (1650 Greentree Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220). A Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (57 21st St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center (https://hillman.upmc.com) , https://hillman.upmc.com, where she received care in Pittsburgh or the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University , https://www.cancer.northwestern.edu, where she participated in a clinical trial focused on CAR T-Cell treatment for Thyroid cancer in Chicago.
