He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond and Nora (Ibach); his wife Verna Mae Hostetter (Witmer); his son James Hostetter; his brother Joseph Hostetter; and also, Dorothy Kauffman, Kathryn Gantz and Eleanor Kreider.

He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Hostetter (Christine Wolgemuth) of Mount Joy, Randy Hostetter (Carolyn Madeira) of Manheim and Wendy Hostetter Rowley of Manheim; his grandchildren, Marc Hostetter (Kim), Colette Hostetter, Lauren Neff (Jared), Matthew Rowley (Natasha) and Blake Rowley; and his siblings, Donald Hostetter and Ruth Hollinger. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
