He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig M. McComsey and Ada McComsey (Reikard); and his brother Robert E. McComsey. He is survived by: his significant other Diane (Dolly); his daughters, Cynthia L. McComsey of Maytown and Gwendolyn L. McComsey of Lancaster; his granddaughter Soul L. McComsey of Lancaster; and his brother Richard C. McComsey of Columbia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gene McComsey Memorial Scholarship Fund.
