He was predeceased by: his parent Ira Hess. He is survived by: his parent Grace Hess (Shank); and his sisters, Barbara Ann Hilt (Ricky) and Bonnie J. Geltmacher (Michael). He is also survived by three nieces, one nephew and two great nieces.
