Winters (Mount Holly Springs, Pennsylvania), born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, who passed away at the age of 91, on January 30, 2023. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Luther W. Karper and Beulah P. Beistline; his mother Isabella Karper Cline; his stepfather Bruce Cline; and his siblings, Elsworth E. Winters, Clyde W. Winters, Gerald A. Winters, Jack W. Winters, Anna Paulus, Glenn Cline and Melvin Cline.

He is survived by: his wife Grace L. Winters; his daughters, Beth L. Winters (Michael J. Cosgrove) and Kelly Winters Fazio (Joseph Fazio); his granddaughter Kendra C. Hoak; and his stepbrother Dale Cline.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bosler Memorial Library, 158 W High St, Carlisle, PA 17013, or the Bubbler Foundation (Education Fund), 4 Academy St, Suite 100, Boiling Springs, PA, 17007.

“I read Mr Winters' obituary in this morning's Sentinel. I had not heard of him in over 60 years but remember him well. In 1958 he was my elementary school teacher at Middlesex.. We all knew he loved baseball and had played in the Phillies farm system. He drove six of us to a Pirates v Phillies game, paid for tickets, got up Phillies caps and snacks at the game! I had that cap for years afterwards. What an amazing and inspiring man he was! (Glenn Stambaugh, a former student.)”
