He was predeceased by: his wife Naomi E. Williams; his parents, Homer Butler and Pearl Woodruff Butler; his son-in-law Clyde VanSickle; and his siblings, Ernest, Raymond, Lester, David Butler, Marsha Trygar and Dorothy Wallace.
He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Sames (Douglas) of South Carolina, Pastor Dixie Lee Murray (Bishop Edward) of West Virginia, Grace VanSickle of Mt. Cobb and George Butler (Janet) of Florida; and his sister Jean Elston of Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several great – great grandchildren; dear friend.
