He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Varano and Alma Varano (Ochs); and his siblings, Paul Varano, Lloyd Varano, Helen Williams, Blanche Eickemeyer and Harriet Sanders.
He is survived by: his spouse Jean B. Williams; his son Attorney Robert K. Varano (Lisa); his grandchildren, Dr. Charles Cole III, Andrea Cole Smith (Brandon Smith), Emily Cole, Daniel Cole, Adam Cole, Robert M. Varano (Cara), Alison Varano, Nicole Varano and Garrett Varano; and his brother-in-law Russell Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Community Church of Mount Carmel or the Mount Carmel Public Library.
