He was predeceased by: his parents, Jumberto Ortiz and Gloria Ruiz; and his sibling Nererta. He is survived by: his fiancée May Castillo; his children, Gloria, Luis, Jose, Jason, Miguel and Carlos; his siblings, Orlando (Bertha), Carlos, Angelo, Nelson, Antonio, Bernito and Carmen; his stepchildren, Lovey (Holly) and Emery (Lynette); and his brothers, David and Fernando. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
