He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. O'Brien and Beatrice O'Brien (Cassidy); his wife Blanche O'Brien (Zenga); his daughter Mary O'Brien; his siblings, Eileen Drummond, Thomas and William O'Brien; and his son-in-law Brian Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen O'Brien, Patricia Korkos (Greg), Dorothy Rodrigues (Manuel), Rose Thompson and John O'Brien, Jr.; and his siblings, Mae Callaghan, James, Edward and Michael O'Brien. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
