Robert W. Fye Obituary
Robert Wharton "Bob" Fye, Jr, 66, of Moshannon, passed away peacefully in the home where he lived in all his life, on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Born on October 13, 1957, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Bernice V. (McGonigal) Fye, Sr. On September 3, 1977, in Snow Shoe, he married the love of his life, Linda J. Moore. Linda survives at home.
Bob attended Bald Eagle Area High School. He was a truck driver for various trucking companies, but lastly, he drove for Kephart Trucking Co.
Bob was a member of the Moshannon United Methodist Church. He loved his church family. He would participate in Bible studies, be the handyman when needed, and even played the part of Jesus in the Easter Drama for many years.
Bob enjoyed camping and spending time with his dog, Patience. His family meant the world to him and did everything he could to spend time with them. He looked forward to the Fye Family Reunion each year and catching up with all his family members.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, one son, Tyler R. Fye and his fiancé, Leah Simcisko, of Moshannon: one daughter, Yvonne M. Fye and her wife, Katherine Lambert, of Bellefonte and one grandson, Shane Lambert of Bellefonte. He is also survived by three sisters: Connie Salvanish of Clarence, Linda Bumbarger and her husband, Gary, of Drifting, and Bonnie Dyke of Zion, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers: Jerry Fye, Gerald McGonigal, and Clifford "Slug" McGonigal, and three sisters: Ruth Shaw, June Martin, and Lydia Summers.
There will be a public viewing on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 6-8pm, at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11am, at the Moshannon United Methodist Church with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating.
