Barbara A. Hahn Obituary
Barbara A. Hahn, 85, formerly of Moshannon, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg. Born on June 14, 1938, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Mable R. (Chipps) Gilpin. She was raised by the Poorman family and the McCloskey family, both of Coleville. On September 18, 1982, in Moshannon, she married Norman A. Hahn. Norman passed away on March 10, 2014.
Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She was a homemaker. She attended the Moshannon United Methodist Church and was a past member of the Snow Shoe Area Lions Club.
Barbara enjoyed creating crafts and attending craft shows. She loved reading and taking photographs. Barbara babysat for over 25 years for many families on the mountaintop area. Her favorite pastime was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her son, John L. Eaton III and his wife, Mary, of Moorestown, NJ; her two daughters, Deborah A. Hannum and her husband, Doug, of Millersville, MD and Trudy J. Bumbarger and her husband, Tim, of Morrisdale: three step sons: Rick A. Hahn and his wife, Tammy S., of Moshannon, Randy L. Hahn and his wife, Tammy E., of Bellefonte, and Leonard E. Hahn and his wife, Jean, of Bellefonte: one step daughter, Shirley L Confer of Moshannon; one brother, Howard Gilpin of Maryland; five half brothers and one half sister.
Barbara is also survived by her 14 grandchildren: Stacey Rockey, Brittney Hahn, Ashton Romine, Shaina Hahn, Madison Hahn, Leni Hahn, Kenny Inhoof, Todd Irvin, Jr., Tyler Irvin, Trevor Irvin, Katie Powell, Emily Hannum, Ashley Eaton, and Matthew Eaton; and numerous great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by two grandsons, Lester Walk, III and Trevor Irvin, one great grandson, Brennon R.A. Irvin, and one brother, Richard Gilpin.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 10am at the Askey Cemetery with Christine Simcisko officiating.
