He was predeceased by: his wife Freida Politarhos Happas; and his parents, Aristides Happas and Chrysoula Lyvannos Happas. He is survived by: his children, Art Happas (Peggy), Soula Phyrillas (Tony) and Pete Happas; his grandchildren, James, Patrick Phyrillas, Ava and Josh Happas; and his sister-in-law Peggy Contoris. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
