He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold (Lois Willans) and NJ; his wife Katrina K.; his son Charles Holmes (Elizabeth Chappell); his stepgranddaughters, Brianna Chappell, Emma Chappell and Olivia Chappell; his nieces and nephews, Kea Sewell, Nakeeta Phillips, Keshana Phillips, Jerry Phillips, Spencer Williams, Alana Williams and Alexa Williams; his godchildren, Eric Moore and Chelsea Phillips; his parent-in-law Enoch Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Celeste Scurry and Glenn Williams.

When Steven's son was young he enjoyed being Co-Cub Scout Leader of his troop and later in life as a motorcycle enthusiast he led his riding group's annual charity run for the Ride of the Santa's to a local children's home.
