He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Gancarz and Sarah Gancarz; and his brother George. He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, Kathleen Schulman (Dan), James Jr. Gancarz (Christine), John Gancarz (Raina), Kimberly Kritzberger (Howard) and Jeffrey Gancarz (Barbara Jacobs); and his siblings, Patricia Titus (Art) and John Gancarz (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to make a donation in his name to an animal rescue shelter of their choice.
