He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Schmidt and Martha Van Luvender Schmidt; and his sister Shirley Middlekauf (Edward). He is survived by: his wife Laura Riccardo; his sons, Gary (Lu Ann) of Kingwood, Texas, Gregory (Donna) of Raleigh, NC, Glenn (Dahnielle) of Chester Springs, PA and Geoffrey (Dena) of Moscow; his grandchildren, Jennifer Schmidt, Kathryn Wright (Alphie), Matthew Schmidt (Sarah Katherine), Eric Schmidt (Ryne Martinez), Ian, Addison, Payton and Lucas Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Violet Schmidt, Isaiah Tucker, Benjamin and Samuel Wright; and his sisters-in-law, Ida Sciabarasi (Vincent) of Caldwell, NJ and Grace Coggi of Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
