He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelantonio Chiodo and Cecelia Chiodo (Vattimo); his wife Darla L. Chiodo (McLaughlin); and his siblings, John, Eugene Arena, Helen Pavelish and Betty Younker.

He is survived by: his brother Richard (late Ann Arena); and his siblings-in-law, Alan and Tina McLaughlin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
