He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob K. Bower and Mae A. Bower (Everitt); his son Phillip H. Bower, Jr.; and his brothers, Everitt, Benjamin, Donald, Fred and J. Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce E. Hawley; his children, Timothy S. Bower (April) of Milton, Tanya B. Potts (Drew) of Watsontown and Andrea B. Bower of Montoursville; his grandsons, Brandon P. Bower (Sarah) of Stillwater, Christopher S. Bower of Williamsport, Austin D. Bower of Hoboken, NJ, Matthew E. Potts of Watsontown and Noah A. Huffman of Montoursville; and his siblings, Harold E. Bower (Sandra) of Mechanicsburg, Clara Bower and Ethel Parker. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to his church at PO Box 277, Turbotville PA 17772.
