She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward J. Mertes Jr. and Evelyn F. Mertes (Berrigan); her godson Matthew Mertes; and her nieces, Dana and Melissa Mertes.
She is survived by: her siblings, Charles J. Mertes (Christine) of Cogan Station, Margaret Montemorano (Thomas) of Mountain Top, Francis Mertes (Kim) of Jersey Shore, Edward Mertes (Tracy) of Williamsport, Shirley Hamm (Charles) of Williamsport, Frederick Mertes (Lorraine) of Williamsport, Joseph Mertes (Bobbie) of Fla, Patricia Helminiak (Joseph) of Williamsport, Thomas Mertes and Mary Helminiak (David) of Williamsport. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family chooses to have no flowers and memorial contributions may be made in Anna's name to either, Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701, for the benefit of the Hillman Cancer Treatment Center or the American Diabetes Foundation, P.O.
